Graded Chinese reader : 2 : selected abridged Chinese contemporary short stories

Sinolingua (2007)

A graded reader containing five Chinese short stories, each chosen to reflect some aspect of everyday life in China.

The stories are by well-known modern Chinese authors and have been abridged to comprise approx. 3000 Chinese words (based on 1033 level A and 2018 level B words listed in the HSK outline).

Stories appear in simplified Chinese characters and Pinyin with summaries and author profiles in English. English translations are given for a few particularly difficult words. All stories are read in Chinese on the accompanying CD.
