This beginner level course comprises a text and 2 accompanying CD's.

Each of the first 14 lessons have two situational dialogues, followed by notes and an exercises section (answer key at the end of the book). There is also a reading/listening comprehension section. Audio files are available on the JTC audio server.

Concentrates on everyday spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin), and in particular putonghua (common speech).
