Satyajit Ray (2003)

This is the first of a trilogy of films by Satyajit Ray based on a novel (1929) by Bibhutibhushan Bannerjee.

Introduces the young Apu, growing up in poverty in the Bengali village of Sischintpur in the early 20th century and charts the boy's gradual progress to adolescence.

In Bengali throughout with optional English subtitles.
