The film follows the story of nine-year-old Shula, a girl who is cast away from her village after a minor incident and is forced to live in a travelling witch camp.

While she adjusts to her new life with other fellow witches, under the supervision of a dubious government official, she is faced with the decision of accepting her fate or risking the consequences of attempting to escape.
