Japan, earth's enchanted islands : Hokkaido
BBC Natural History Unit (2015)
Second in a three-part series, this documentary explores the interaction between wildlife and humans on Hokkaido.
Hokkaido is the most northerly island and has long, inhospitable Siberian-like winters. Viewers see winter wildlife, such as red-crowned cranes, Whooper swans and Steller's sea eagles whilst during the short summer months, farmers work hard growing crops and raising livestock while they can.
English language documentary.
