Hopi is a native North American language in Northeastern Arizona, USA. It is one of 30 languages in the Uto-Aztecan language family. The language is in decline but it is estimated that there are around 5,000 speakers of Hopi.

There are 4 dialects of Hopi; First mesa, Mishongnovi, Shipaulovi and Third Mesa. Hopi is a shortened form of the original term 'Hopituh-Shi-Nu-Mu', which is thought to mean peaceful person. The language is known for having a unique way of expressing time and space concepts.
