Official language (along with English) of the US State of Hawaii.
America annexed Hawaii in 1899, banning the use of Hawaiian, at which time it almost became extinct. However, since its its re-instatement as joint official language in 1978 there has been a revival there are now several immersion schools in Hawaii and several thousand speakers as a second language.
