In a television series focusing on cultural milestones, Girish Karnad - author, playwright, actor, producer, director; director of the Nehru Centre London 2000-3 - explores the meaning of 'The Bhagavad Gita'; and in particular, the part it has played in India's struggle for independence.
Contains film extracts from literary adaptations and some black and white archival footage on Mahatma Gandhi and also on the partition of India and Pakistan.
