Ultimate questions: Who should police the world? Do people need violence?
MacDonald, Stuart
This televised discussion, presented by Martyn Lewis, examines two moral, ethical and spiritual questions: 'Who should police the world?' and 'Do people need violence?
The first discusses the advantages and disadvantages of there being a ruler, the role of the U.N. and police force, looks at democracies and totalitarian societies. The second addresses our need as humans for violence; has violence has solved anything; does violence creates more violence, and whether conflicts can be solved by non-violent measures.
